GENERAL MANAGER / COO

The Lahore Stock Exchange is the 2nd largest stock exchange of the country and plays a key role in the development of the capital markets of Pakistan. With increasing domestic and foreign investor interest and the prospect of demutualization, the Lahore Stock Exchange is seeking a high performance senior management professional. The candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience along with related degree(s) / professional qualification(s) from renowned institutions. However a strong record of achievement, excellent communication and team building skills, and a result orientated attitude are equally important. International qualifications / experience will be an added advantage together with knowledge of the local corporate environment and that of the capital markets. This position will be reporting directly to the Managing Director/CEO.

The GM/COO will provide strategic, operational and administrative support to the MD/CEO, and play a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiencies and revenue growth. This is an extremely high profile role for which an exceptional candidate is sought. Key responsibilities include:

* Supervising the day to day operations, risk, surveillance, listings and clearing functions of the exchange

* Developing and implementing business strategy, new products and market rules and regulations

* Liaising with SECP on business and regulatory issues

* Coordinating with associated companies of the Exchange such as CDC and NCCPL

* Leading special projects as required, particularly the demutualization process

* Candidate should have familiarity with capital market products and processes and possess a business related degree (MBA, Masters in Finance/Economics, etc.) and/or a relevant professional qualification (ACA/CFA, etc.)
