AGA KHAN PLANNING AND BUILDING SERVICE, PAKISTAN (AKPBS,P) CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) The Aga Khan Planning and Building Service, Pakistan (AKPBS,P), a not-for-profit organization, is part of Aga Khan Development Network, a group of private development agencies working to empower communities and individuals, often in disadvantaged circumstances. AKPBS,P works to improve the built environment, particularly housing design and construction, villages planning, natural hazard mitigation, environmental sanitation, water supplies, and other living conditions, AKPBS,P achieves these goals through the provision of material and technical assistance and construction management services for rural and urban areas. It has recently received the ALCAN prize for Sustainability and the World Habitat Award by UN-Habitat. The CEO (Karachi based) reporting to the Board of Directors through the Chairman will; * Plan, implement and monitor AKPBS,P activities within the parameters of the yearly budget, long term strategic plans, policies and procedures duly approved by the Board. * Be responsible for efficiency, time and quality compliance of all initiatives, Ensure technical and ethical soundness and satisfaction of all stakeholders in the output / outcome of the organization. * Provide leadership in the development and achievement of the strategic vision and direction of the organization in order to enhance the impact, outreach and effectiveness of the organization. * Effectively translate strategies into operational objectives with specific measurable goals and deliverables; develop and refine existing and new development initiatives. * Work towards establishing AKPBS,P as an internationally recognised key player in the built-environment sector, as well as having a reputation of being responsive to the needs of the target population; enhance awareness and recognition of the organization. * Establish and maintain relationships with outside associations and development agencies. * Develop systems and HR to maintain continuity and transparency of operations. REQUIREMENTS: * Significant post qualification experience at the senior level in Built Environment / Infrastructure management promoted by NGO’s, Corporate Bodies, Government Agencies and other funding organizations; Experience in a development agency would be preferred. * Hold a Post Graduate Management degree combined with one of these subjects; Architecture, Urban Planning or Civil Engineering. * Must have experience of working with donors and be able in effectively communicate with them. * Possess excellent capacity building and mentoring skills.
