Power Station is a 586 MW CCGT located near Dera Murad Jamali in the
Balochistan province of Pakistan. The plant consists of three GE 9E
combustion turbine generators in combined cycle using three heat
recovery steam generators and a steam turbine. The plant is being
operated & maintained by the Facility Management Division of ESB
International since it was commissioned in the year 2000. The company is looking for the services of an experienced, dynamic and energetic individual for the position of Assistant C & I Engineer - Combined Cycle Power Plant at Uch Power Station. Job Description Reporting to the Controls & Instrumentation Engineer, the Assistant C & I Engineer is responsible for assisting all areas of C & I department. Main responsibilities include: • Preparation of on-going maintenance work packages using CMMS. • Spare parts identification and procurement for stock. • Assist in special projects as required. • Maintain communication and networking, software problems and implement preventive measures. • Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and vendor standards. • Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability. • Ensure to keep the DCS system work in healthy condition. This job involves programming, points configuration, modifications and day to day trouble shooting. • Ensure to keep the Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and MK-V Control system running safely and efficiently. • The person will be involved in PLC & MK-V programming, modification, and trouble shooting. • The assistant engineer will be required to suggest plant improvements and plan for implementations in the control system as well as in the field instrumentation. • Planning breakdown and routine maintenance. • The person is expected to continue the relationship between the different departments. • Ensure strict safety and good house keeping codes. • Ensuring C&I workshop facilities and practices to high standard • Other duties as assigned Job Specification • The candidate should have 4 years bachelors degree (B.E) in electronics / electrical / or in control system with at least 4 years work experience in the field of Control and instrumentation. Or DAE with minimum 15 years hands on experience in the related field. • The candidate should have a good C&I aptitude and excellent understanding of plant safety procedures and practices. • The person must be able to interpret the instrumentation & control wiring diagrams, P & ID’s, ladder logic, relay logic, other different wiring and controls documentations and software. • The selected person is expected to have good understanding of gas turbine , Steam turbine, MK-V control system, Allen Bradley, PLC’s, DCS and field instrumentation calibrations, servicing repair and troubleshooting, like transmitters, controllers, switches, transducers, analyzers etc. • Experience in max DNA DCS will be considered as an added advantage. General Candidate traits include Energetic and self starter, team player, efficient in using MS office, should have technical aptitude, well conversant with HSE procedures and having good communication skills in English.
