Job Description:
To promote and sell the ALUP Air Compressors and spares to various Customers in accordance with their needs. To provide appropriate services for the installation and trouble free operation.
Skills Required
ü To ensure working in the assigned territory in line with Interscan and ALUP Kompressoren GmbH, Germany vision and business plan
ü To help in ensuring sustainable growth of the division
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Transparent and seen to be so. (Trustworthy)
- Thorough understanding of service demands relating to engineering and allied equipment.
- Qualified Engineer (BE) Mechanical or Electrical preferably experience for at least one year.
- Good oral skills for dealing with people over phone & face to face.
- Be good in planning & process orientation.
- Thorough understanding of the safety procedures and an ability to implement checks and balances at all levels.
- Ability to explain & implement strategy / instructions.
- The ability to work on own initiative, meet tight deadlines & manage competing demands
- Strong interpersonal & negotiation skills.
- The ability to provide leadership to those reporting to him and plan progression of their careers.
- Computer literate – able to understand and operate the in house software & application software.
- Ability to supervise and manage people & resolve conflicts.
- Pro-active involvement in improving level of service to the organization & Customers.
- Custodian of the Company’s assets.
- Ability to generate various options and seen as a problem solver
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead team of Sales and Service people on a regional basis
- Ensure submission of monthly visit schedule to National Sales & Service Manager and should carry out and ensure that himself and person reporting to him regularly visit customers and submits daily visit reports.
- Submitting the progress report to the management, after review meeting with the subordinate.
- Ensure meeting and or exceeding the approved sales and earning target of the territory during the financial year.
- Acquiring thorough knowledge of customer base.
- Guiding his team in selecting the correct model, negotiating the most suitable price & terms with customers.
- Timely and cost effective instillation of new plant & equipment and providing preventive maintenance facility of equipment with various Customers.
- Maintaining a record / data base of all equipment sold by the Company in his territory and preparation of preventive maintenance cycle there of.
- Developing and implementing an effective Customer complaints handling plan.
- Focusing on Customer Service aiming to enhance the prospect of repeat sales.
- Preparing and implementing a preventive maintenance for equipment under warranty / contract in his territory.
- Establishing a business / technical link between the Customer & the Supplier in his territory.
- Ensuring an active contact with key customers through periodic visits (Minimum 40 per month). These visits will be designed for relationship building to understand the opportunities to improve the level of service to the Customers.
- Providing support to the administration department for administrative matters relating to technical staff / visitors. This would include arranging transportation, lodging & boarding etc.
- Developing up stream & down stream contactors for services.
- Planning and intimating stock of critical parts as specified by the Supplier and arranging replenishment on regular intervals through the Commercial Dept.
- Train the work force re the basic principles of hygiene and ensure that an acceptable level of personal hygiene is maintained.
- To monitor and rectify the conduct behavior of employees and take corrective action against those not meeting the values of the Company. This would include resolving conflict amongst various employees and maintaining an amicable working environment at all times.
- Effectively liaise with other functions within the Company to resolve their day to day issues.
- To provide support to the business in terms of information required from time to time. This would include information relating to Customers, their feed back, competitive activity & innovation observed at different locations. (Be eyes & ears for the Company)
- Primary focus on Customer Service aiming to enhance the prospect of repeat sales.
- Ability to understand, convey and implement instructions received from the Management.
- Good people & time management both for self and those reporting to him.
- Tight control of the goods / assets under his custody.
- Assuming full responsibly for proper training and developing awareness amongst those reporting to him for improvement in efficiency, competency, safety awareness, problem resolution and maintaining discipline per the norms set by the Management.
- Performing the administrative tasks of the department i.e. recommend leaves; recommend promotions / increments, initiation of disciplinary activity for non-performers as required by the National Sales & Service Manager.
- To keep an eye on general behavior of respective employees.
