Job Description:

Assistant Driver for Pakistan Railways, Lahore
Skills Required

Applications are invited from the candidates belonging to Civil Districts falling in the territorial jurisdiction of Pakistan Railways Lahore Division to fill up the under mentioned vacancies. The successful candidates will have to under go prescribed training course required at Pakistan Railway Academy, Walton, if they are declared successful and FIT in their prescribed class by the Divisional Medical Officer, Pakistan Railways, Lahore.

Applications are invited by Pakistan Railways, Lahore Division for appointment on Contract basis for a period of two years from suitable candidates of Retired Drivers & Fireman / Shunter of Lahore Division, for filling up vacancies of Driver(BS-12) & Fireman / Shunter(BS-08) in Lahore Division, subject to physical fitness.

Age Limit
(i)    18-25 Years +5 Years General Relaxation.
(ii)    In Case of Ex-Serviceman, the upper age limit is relaxable to the extent of service rendered by him in the Armed Forces, or ten Years, Which ever is less.
 
Recruitment Quota

The recruitment will be subjected to the following quota without any relaxation in minimum Academic Qualification as well as age: -

 
1. Open Merit.   58% + 5%+ 2% = 65% ( Women + Disable Person are not eligible )
       
2.

Son of Railway Employee either in Service / Retired or deceased.

   18%+ 2% = 20% ( 2% Son of decease employ died during Service )
       
3. Ex-Serviceman.   10%
       
4. Orphans ( Other than Railways )   5%
   
Note:-

 In case of Railway Employees Son, the Father / Mother of the candidates has to submit an affidavit  that non of his children is appointed against the Railway quota other than this child.

 

DOCUMENTS TO BE ATTACHED.

Attested copies of National Identity Card, Domicile, Character Cet1ificate, Relationship Certificate (in case of Son of Railway Employee) and three Passport size photographs & Academic Qualification Certificates and also contact Telephone No. must be mentioned on applications.

APPLICATION FORM.

Application should be made on Plain Paper or Prescribed Form available at all the big Railway Stations, (duly filled ·in according to the instructions printed thereon) and must be sent through "REGISTERED POST" addressed to the "DIVISIONAL SUPERINTENDENT, PR. LAHORE DIVISION, BOGY ROAD, LAHORE", so as to reach this office latest by 31.10.2007. Applications must be accompanied by testimonials in support of entries made therein. No previous application, if any, will be entertained.

All candidates are required to deposit application fee Rs.100/- with the Station Master at any Station of Lahore Division or with the Chief Cashier & Treasurer, Cash Office, Lahore Station and attach the original receipt with application form.

Incomplete application will not be entertained. Government Servant including Railway Servants should submit their applications through Proper Channel.

No traveling allowance or other expenses will be paid to the candidate called for Written Test/Interview. The successful candidates are required to pass the prescribed medical test by the Railway Doctor i.e. Divisional Medical Officer and prescribed course from Pakistan Railway Academy, Walton.

A candidate who has married or entered into the contract of marriage with a person who is not a citizen of Pakistan may, at the discretion of the Government be rendered ineligible for appointment to the post.

Call letter will be issued to the eligible candidates indicating date, time and place for Written Test. Three (3) Postal Envelops with own Complete Address written thereon are also sent with the application.

The Competent Authority has the right to reject any application/ all applications without assigning any reason under the rules. The Competent Authority may increase/decrease the vacancies according to requirement.
