QUALIFICATION: A candidate should possess a Degree in Law from a recognized University entitling him to practice the Profession of Law or is a Member of the Faculty of Advocates of
EXPERIENCE: Two years practice as an Advocate. To support the claim of experience the candidate should submit his/her valid registration certificate from the
ELIGIBILITY: Both male and female citizens of
PAY: BS-17+ Rupees six thousand only (Judicial Allowance)
AGE LIMIT: 22 to 30 years on 20-10-2007 with certain relaxation as mentioned in the instructions to candidates attached with the Application Form.
SYLLABUS: The written examination shall be of eight Compulsory Subjects for all the candidates. There are no optional subjects. A candidate shall answer the paper in English except the paper at Sr. No.2 unless otherwise directed. Time allowed for each subjective paper shall be 3 Hours and MCQ Type paper shall be 2 Hours. The subjects and maximum marks allocated to each subject shall be as shown below:-

English The paper is intended to test the ability of the candidates in functional English comprising precis writing, translation from Urdu into English, composition, usage of idioms and an essay on one of the several specified topics.
Urdu This paper will test the ability of the candidates to translate an English passage into Urdu, usage of legal terms in Urdu, composition, precis writing, use of idioms and an essay on one of the several specified topics.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
a) No candidate shall be summoned for Viva Voce and Psychological test unless he has obtained at least 33 percent marks in each
individual written paper and 50 percent marks in the aggregate of the written portion of the examination. No candidates shall be
considered to have qualified in the examination unless he also obtains at least 50 percent marks in Viva Voce and Psychological
tests. Failure in or absence in Viva Voce and Psychological tests shall mean that the candidate has failed to qualify for
appointment and his name will not be included in the merit list.
b) Names of candidates who qualify shall be arranged in order of merit according to the aggregate marks obtained in the
examination.
c) In the event of a tie, the order of merit shall be determined in accordance with the highest marks secured in the Psychological / Viva Voce tests, should the marks in the Psychological / Viva Voce test of the candidates who tie, be equal then the order of
merit shall be decided in accordance with the highest marks obtained by such candidates in the aggregate of the compulsory
subjects. If these are the same, then the elder candidate would be placed above the younger one.
d) Non-Muslim candidates have the option either to attempt MCQs on Islamic Studies or the same number of questions in a
separate section.
e) All the papers other than Civil Law-I, Civil Law-II, Criminal Law & General Law will be of B.A level, while the four papers relating
to Law will be of LL.B level.
f) A candidate must obtain 33 percent marks in each of the written papers. A candidate must obtain 50 percent marks in the
aggregate of all written papers. (0.50 or more marks will be rounded off).Thereafter qualifying candidates must also secure
50% marks in the interview to be finally successful.
g) In the MCQ type paper Negative marking will be applicable and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
h) The date sheet and place of the examination will be intimated separately to each candidate through admission letter and press.
1. FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE ATTACHED WITH THE APPLICATION FORMS:
a) All Educational Certificates such as Matric / Inter / B.A. / LL.B.
b) Valid Certificate of Domicile of the candidate in any district of the Punjab Province issued by District
Magistrate/District Coordination Officer and copy of National Identity Card (old & new computerized).
c) One latest Passport size photograph (Both for Male & Female candidates) attested by at least a Government Officer of
BS-16 or above who should give his/her full name and designation and affix his/her rubber stamp and signatures to
be pasted on the application at the proper place.
d) Experience Certificate on the prescribed form PPSC-4 attached with the application form, must be obtained from the
President District Bar Association duly countersigned and affixing rubber stamps of the District and Sessions
Judge concerned (in original).
e) The candidates applying for the post of Civil Judges-cum- Judicial Magistrates must submit an Affidavit
(on stamp paper of Rs.20/-) declaring that he/she had been actively practicing the profession of law during the
two years preceding the date of advertisement and during this period he/she had not engaged
himself/herself in any other whole time service, business or as the case may be, occupation for gain.
f) Punjab Bar Council’s up-to date / valid registration certificate showing the date of enrollment.
2. Incomplete, wrongly filled in and unsigned applications will be rejected summarily.
3. Candidates must submit their applications complete in all respect duly supported with the required certificates.
4. All qualifications and conditions of eligibility must have been completed on or before the closing date of submission of applications.
5. Attested photocopies of all the relevant documents must be attached with the application form. However, the original certificates will be produced by the candidates at the time of Psychological test and Interview.
6. Candidates must carefully read and follow “Instructions to Candidates” attached with the application form for filling the
application. However, candidates must complete all the requirements mentioned in this advertisement even
though these may not be mentioned in the application forms.
7. Fax applications from in-country candidates, will not be accepted.
8. Down loaded application forms from our web site (www.ppsc.gop.pk) will also be acceptable.
9. Note: In case of change/deletion/addition in any column of the prescribed application form, the candidates would be liable to
the rejection of his/her candidature.
