This position staffs event committees, solicits underwriting support, creates and implements an event management plan and executes events within event budgets and achieving fundraising goals. The Events Manager works as a member of the Development Team and assists in all aspects of the fundraising program to help the agency in achieving its fundraising and visibility goals.
Working with agency leadership, plan a calendar of events that will meet agency fundraising needs and visibility goals.
Create timelines for special events and assure that benchmarks are being met in a timely fashion.
Motivate and support event Chairs to lead and engage the Board and garner community involvement. Manage committee meetings, follow-up on assignments and help in recruiting committee members.
Create an annual plan to recruit, retain and communicate with event table captains.
Establish and measure key benchmarks for success: funds raised, table captain retention and recruitment, guest attendance and sponsorship. Produce monitoring reports and share progress with event chairs and key staff.
Work with Annual Fund Manager to develop and produce high-quality print materials
Along with other members of the department, work to secure corporate sponsorship to underwrite events. Take part in the creation and implementation of strategy to retain and recruit event sponsors.
Identify best practices and innovative approaches to event fundraising; monitor trends and opportunities within the community.
Demonstrated skills/experience in strategic planning and analysis, project and event management, donor stewardship and budget management.
Highly-organized and detail oriented; exceptional written and verbal communications.
Experience working with boards and volunteer committees.
Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
Good skills with MS Office. Familiarity with Raisers Edge experience preferred.
