-Supervising the laundry operation on a daily basis
-Planning work schedules in accordance with the volume of laundry to be processed, and assigning laundry staff accordingly.
-Insuring that all aspects of infection control are strictly implemented in accordance with the hospital laundry guidelines as outlined in AAMI ST 65 of the American National Standards.
-Observe the laundry machinery, notify the laundry mechanic on all adjustments, lubrication of equipment, maintenance and breakdowns.
Ensuring that preventive maintenance work is carried out according to manufacturer guidelines, and that the workload of the laundry is not affected.
-Regularly sends items of laundry to the on site laboratory for testing.
-Writes out and actions laundry formulas to determine water hardness, effectiveness, or stain removers and detergents, and changes the formulas accordingly.
-Prepares requisitions for laundry equipment, materials, and consumables
-Maintain employee records, production records, supply records. Make detailed reports to the Head Office concerning Laundry Operations.
-Prepares reports to Client offices, so the laundry can be properly evaluated.
-Induction and training of new staff, train of staff on the job.
-Oversee the collection and distribution of a fleet of 5 laundry vehicles throughout the medical zone.
-Maintain quality control.
-Visit client pickup/drop off points, maintain good client relations.
-Attend infection control meetings.
-Able to plan, make and manage a budget for all laundry operations.
-Have knowledge of Marketing, to sell.
Profile -Have at least 8 years experience in Laundry. Management, of which at least 4 years at the position of Laundry Manager.
-Have worked in a Laundry handling 15 tons of linen per day.
-Have an experience of linen distribution from a central point to divers pick-up points.
-Working knowledge of proper laundry operations, routine maintenance servicing of laundry equipment, formulaes, and their application to specific laundry situations.
-Previous experience in the Middle East, an advantage
-Previous experience in working in a hospital laundry preferred.
-Not less than 35 years old, with good English skills, computer literate.
