Job Description:

VAM SYSTEMS is a Business Consulting, IT Technology Solutions and Services company with operations in UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Australia, USA, Singapore and India.VAM SYSTEMS is currently looking for Senior Credit Officer for one of our clients which is a leading bank in Qatar with the following skill set and terms and conditions. Purpose. Develop and manage comprehensive credit policy and strategy on the basis of market conditions with respect to credit exposure for all bank transactions relating to corporate credit, consumer credit and credit administration and support.Maintain highest levels of asset quality by ensuring that credit assessment and the loan portfolio is managed within adequate criteria regulatory requirements and that trouble symptoms detection procedures are functioning effectively. Impact/Accountability  
  1. Develop and manage a comprehensive credit policy and strategy for the entire bank.
  2. Direct the development of credit strategies of the bank in accordance with the banks overall strategy.
  3. Ensure that the work in the area is carried out (1) In accordance and compliance with the policies and procedures and (2) With in the guidelines set by bank in order to achieve acceptable levels of both risk and returns.
  4. Ensure that all loan packages meet the information and credit quality guidelines in order that the sanctioning authority has the information to make sound decisions.
  5. Review and recommend the credit package including the assessment of risk rating in order to provide an independent technical / professional opinion on potential risk and matters that warrant management attention.
  6. Review credit evaluation reports used as early warning signals on credits recurring “watch “ listing or adverse classification prior to submission reports the same periodically.
  7. Review updates and develops the credit authority manual and the credit policy manual from time to time in order to ensure adaptability to the banks current and future needs/regulations.
  8. Assumes the responsibility for acquiring and developing the systems for credit management under Base II to new regulations and its amendments.
  9. Recommend credit limits within predefined scope and forward others to appropriate levels.
  10. Advise credit and loan personnel on the companies overall lending policy noting significant rents.
  11. Ensure a prudent level of portfolio diversification in the bank.
  12. Maintain liaison with bank authorities and external auditors on provisioning of accounts and in coordination with compliance section of the audit department ensures that all reporting requirements are complained with.
  13. Leads team to conduct on going credit customer evaluations including potential change in credit limit, risk rating or collateral requirement and recommends appropriate decision.
  14. Lead the team to conduct ongoing port folio evaluation including a customer comparative study with other banks, a review and assessment of market trends, the impact on our port folio, the development of various scenarios and recommends appropriate decisions.
  15. Coaches, appraises, develops and motivates area staffs in order to enable them to acquire skills required for proper and timely credit evaluation.
 Knowledge and Skills / Education and Experience. Post Graduate (Finance / CA), Risk Training Certification from professional banking institute.
