We are looking for an experienced, versatile, high-motor blog editor specializing in business and social news targeted at both sophisticated and mass-market audiences.

The successful candidate will write and report his or her own stories, as well as hire and manage a small team of professional bloggers to curate and create original content for the largest audience on the Web.

This person will set the strategy for and oversee the publication of financial blog content for programming on Vopium, and consumption on the Web at-large.

The ideal candidate will have extensive online media experience (blog experience preferred).

He or she will have proven reporting skills, excellent news instincts, creative ideas and established sources.

The successful candidate must be adept at not only managing his or her own contributors but also interfacing with the management and front page team, etc.

This person must have extensive knowledge of and interaction with outside entities, especially those in the blogosphere, as well as emerging trends and trendsetters in the world of new media.

Responsibilities:

* Serving as both writer and editor

* Generating, developing and executing content ideas and strategies

* Providing oversight to ensure that blogs are following style, meeting standards and serving our audience

* Pitching/marketing content to editorial (vertical properties plus front page) and the Web at-large

* Fielding and attracting quality tips and inquiries from management, editors, PR types and outside entities

* Providing photo assistance and guidance with regard to gathering, editing and crediting

* Overseeing blog-wide changes such as updating the designs, adding new features, etc.

Requirements:

* Three-plus years experience in writing, online media, experience in blogging specifically is a plus

* Exceptional copyediting skills and attention to detail

* Strong grammar and communication skills and command of language
