| Job Description/ Responsibilities | ROLE IN THE CONTRACT: Single point responsible for all engineering design services to Company. Organize, manage, assign and control staff working in the discipline. Shall head all the engineering management aspects, Technological aspects, quality aspects and human resource development aspects. Shall control & co-ordinate all design engineering & drafting activities to ensure efficient and economical design in accordance with Contract requirements and good engineering practices. Ensure through direction and guidance of personnel within the discipline that the engineering work is progressed efficiently, to maintain schedule without compromising on quality. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Degree in relevant Engineering subject. (B.Sc./B.Eng/M.Sc), and membership of internationally accepted applicable professional Institute REQUIRED EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Minimum 15 years experience in civil and structural engineering and min 8 years in the design and specification of upstream oil & gas facility with extensive experience in conceptual studies, front end, and detailed design. Oil and gas experience is required; reduced upstream oil and gas experience combined with experience in similar industries will be acceptable. Shall have at least 2-5 years experience as a Discipline Head and shall be capable of reading, interpreting and managing discipline specific engineering work right from basic level to front-end & detailed design covering all type of activities typical in an on-shore oil & gas environment. GENERAL REQUIREMENT: Some Field experience in construction will be an added advantage, Ability to communicate, delegate, and motivate the Discipline team. Fluent in spoken and written English SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT: Conversant with relevant International codes and standards, shall have more than 10 years hands on work experience with the engineering design consultants in designing large facilities - preferably in oil & gas installations - involving heavy rotating / static equipment foundations, facilities, substation buildings, vent stacks and structures using computerized tools such as STAAD, SACS or equivalent involving the following: Plot/layout plans Road and paving plans Sewer plan Underground services Plan Architectural Layouts Drainage Layouts Pilo location Plans Foundation location plans Concrete foundations for pumps, compressors, skids, etc. Steel structures (hoisting, etc.) Oil saver pits Non standard Pipe supports and Anchors. Vendor civil drawings. Other Oil & Gas related civil drawings. Brown Field Construction Scopes PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Shall have single point responsibility for the integrity and quality of all Work within the discipline. Resource and staff management within discipline. To review any design work carried out by third parties (vendors), and to participate in, and in some instances lead, participate in Hazops, Safety and Facility audits. To identify potential applications for new technology. To actively train and encourage the staff to fulfill engineering roles. CHALLENGES: Continuously strive to improve the performance of the team and the competence of the organization. Absorb new practices / technology & new engineering practices and contribute in developing innovative engineering practices. Allocate available resources in an optimal manner to meet client needs, identify requirement of additional resources well in time. Ensure that quality requirements are never compromised. Provide guidance to all members in the discipline. |
