| Job Description/ Responsibilities | As one of our Rotating Equipment Engineers, you’ll advise on all aspects of rotating equipment engineering, operations and maintenance with the objective of ensuring the safe, reliable and cost-efficient operation of machinery in new and existing installations. Among other activities, you’ll be involved with root cause analysis, failure diagnosis and shutdown assistance of major machinery; We’ll expect you to manage rotating equipment condition monitoring and performance monitoring programmes, and develop procedures to monitor equipment availability and reliability. Your work may also focus on dynamic simulation, rotor dynamics and reliability modelling studies; You’ll be responsible for the design specifications of rotating equipment for new projects, and monitor the performance of engineering contractors in their activities. Participating in concept selection studies and contributing to development releases for novel equipment, you’ll contribute to the revision of the Group’s specifications and be in contact with major rotating equipment manufacturers regarding the development of new equipment and problem-solving issues; Working independently or as a member of multi-disciplinary teams, you’ll coach, mentor and develop junior staff, and provide training where necessary. |
| Candidate Requirement |
| Profile | With a Bachelor's or Masters' degree in mechanical engineering you’ll have at least 10 years’ experience working with rotating equipment in an operational environment. This will include design, testing, operation, trouble-shooting and maintenance; You’ll have worked with engineering contractors on the specification and selection of rotating equipment for new installations, and we’d prefer you to have experience of providing advice and consultancy to clients. Fluent written and verbal English is essential, and you should have excellent presentation and communication skills; You’ll be based in Bangalore but may be required to make extended visits to the Shell Group’s other global operating companies; Authorisation to work in India is required for this position; A remuneration package based on the conditions in the country of employment will be offered for this position. |
