Job Description/ Responsibilities | 1. Basic Function and Scope: The primary function of this position is to supervise contractors involved in well services activities. These include; electric wireline operations, pumping of cement, acid and scale treatments by the stimulation vessel, slickline operations, wellhead investigations and repairs and coiled tubing operations. The position requires a high level of understanding and experience in all types of Well Intervention techniques. As well as daily contact and guidance from the Senior Well Intervention Engineer, the position will also interface with the Senior Well Operations Engineer and the Production Engineers to ensure procedures are prepared which can be effectively executed. The position will be responsible for the successful implementation of the intervention activities without compromising the client’s Safety Policies and with no detriment to the environment. Additionally the position will interface with the Production Foreman (Wells) to ensure simultaneous production and intervention procedures are followed and any production downtime is minimized. The position will receive functional guidance from Senior Well Intervention Engineer. As this is a field based position the incumbent must follow HSE directives from the Offshore Installation Manager. 2. Tasks and Duties: a. Implement approved procedures for rigless and when applicable rig based well intervention operations following client’s Well Operations Standards. b. Monitor contractor performance, recognizing good performance and reporting to the Contract Owner any shortfalls or potential improvements. c. Interface with Production Operations to ensure production downtime for intervention activities is minimized and appropriately managed. d. Input into the planning process to ensure interfaces with Production Operations are considered and to ensure resource requirements are forecasted. e. Supervise and monitor safety performance ensuring HSE tools and techniques are effectively utilized (JSA’s, Horizon Zero, incident reporting etc) f. Ensure accurate daily reports of intervention activities covering both technical aspects and costs. g. Minimise downtime on the intervention operation by efficient use of resources and appropriate application of technology. h. Participate as required in troubleshooting as and when well problems occur. This will require an understanding of client’s Well Operations Standards, Well Intervention Standard Procedures and Well Integrity Procedures and processes. i. Interface with Production Engineers giving operational input into procedures and workpacks and feedback lessons learnt so they can be implemented in future operations. j. Interface with Logisitics and Contractors to ensure all necessary equipment is available in a timely manner. k. Ensure that all client’s and long term contract equipment for Well Intervention operations is maintained and certified. 3. Work Environment: Offshore Dubai, U.A.E. 5. Minimum Requirements: a. Minimum 10 years Well Intervention Experience of which a minimum of 5 years should be at a supervisory level. b. Clear understanding of wells and well control techniques. Must either hold or be competent to attain IWCF well control certification. c. Knowledge of wellheads and Xmas trees and completions. d. Knowledge of all types of Well Intervention Techniques; slickline, electric wireline, pumping operations, coiled tubing. e. Representative knowledge of industry standards. Knowledge and understanding of client’s Standards will need to be demonstrated early into the assignment. f. Competent with Microsoft suite of reporting software. g. Good written and verbal communication skills. h. Proven safety leadership skills. i. Demonstration of time management and organizational skills. j. Ability to manage a multi-cultural work force. |
