| Job Description/ Responsibilities |
Manage all Company activities associated with transport, order office,
cylinder stock management, depot management and gas applications to
achieve objectives agreed with the General Manager. Provide an important commercial and operational link with customers to ensure a sound commercial footing and a good operational relationship. Manage all aspects of transport (order office, stocks of gases and cylinders , and customer records. Liaise with customers on all aspects of gas requirements Control and develop depots. |

| Profile | Cylinder management: Plan and control stock levels of cylinders required for the business. Purchase new cylinders of the correct quality and standard. Purchase special gases as required ensuring correct quality and certification. Keep GM informed on all significant matters. As a senior manager make a major contribution to management meetings. Establish good working relationships with the authorities with whom the Distribution Department has dealings. Work closely with other departmental managers engendering good teamwork. Carry out and record regular staff appraisals. Sit on the senior management Health and Safety. Committee and be responsible for the generation and implementation of a significant number of ISO procedures. Carry out duties not defined in the JD but which may arise due to circumstances. |
