Database Administrator Permanent job in Karachi , Pakistan

Responsibilities:

Installing, patching, upgrading and maintaining Oracle Database Servers (8i/9i/10g) on multiple platforms i.e. Linux, Windows.

Installation and configuration of Oracle Application Server 10g.

Devising backup and recovery strategy according to the size and availability of the database servers.

On going performance tuning of database servers and helping development team in application performance tuning (SQL tuning).

Working with multiple development teams concurrently and helping them in back-end related issues.

Maintaining and implementing database standards.

Skills Required Must have working knowledge of Linux and Windows platforms. Must have experience of Installation/Patching and Up gradation of Oracle Database Servers on multiple platforms i.e. Linux, Windows. Must have sound knowledge of different versions of Oracle i.e. 8i, i9, 10g. Must have experience with Oracle Application Server 10g. Must have experience of data loading/unloading data in the database using Import/Export and SQL Loader. Must be a team player to work with multiple teams simultaneously to meet their requirements and resolve day to day issue faced by the development teams. Academic Qualification(s): Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognized institute. Certification of DBA track (OCP) will be a plus Experience: At least 2 years of experience of Oracle Database Administration on Linux and Windows platforms.
