Assistant Manager Optical Fiber
       
Overview     Incumbent will be responsible for all Optical Fiber Core Transmission Planning for Telenor Pakistan
Reports To     Manager BSS & Transmission Planning;
Work Location     Islamabad
Experience Required     5-6 years in vendor or operator
Key Responsibilities     •Manage the teams for TSS from core transmission perspective being conducted in the region
•Ensure that the required reports are being prepared and all the planning activities ( Bandwidth requirement and plans, site readiness, Fiber routes) are performed in a timely and efficient manner without adding any delay in the process
•Preparation of SDH/DWDM Network Design & Planning for Backbone and Metros
•Keeping the track of Core Transmission equipment planned and ordered and give the feedback of the spared, used and planned equipment.
•Keep close coordination with the all the concerned departments. to get the long and short term requirements and prepare the plans accordingly
•Coordinate with the SA/RE to select the sites for MSC, MGW, SDH hub etc.
•Provide the Site Design department info regarding the Core Transmission requirement to help to decide the different types of sites required
•Ensure the preparation of Layer1 diagrams for both DWDM backbone & Metro Core Transmission Network.
•Ensure the timely preparation of the MUX plan and Update the NIMS DB
 
Personal Attributes     •Should be able to manage the work effectively
•Should have enough skills to foresee the overall requirements as well as long term plans
Education/Professional Qualification     Bachelors in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom Engineering
 

Solid experience on SDH/DWDM planning
Experience on multiple NG-SDH/DWDM equipment vendor for metro and backbone networks
ASON experience and planning is an add-on
IP experience is an add-on
Network Synchronization experience is desirable
Experience of fiber network roll out would be an added advantage
Solid project management
