Job Description:

Position: Embedded Software Engineer
Reference: GE/SW/11060001


Summary of Job
  • Implement real-time embedded software to meet the requirements of our 3GPP compliant telecoms products.
  • Design blocks based on a set of external specifications or internal requirements.
  • Development work covers 3GPP LTE protocol layers 2 upwards.


Skills Required
  • C programming knowledge. Candidates with limited work experience should be able to show some interest in software development through personal projects
  • Ideally knowledgeable in digital communications
  • Knowledge of or interest in real-time software techniques and microprocessor architectures
  • Understands practical implementation aspects and can devise practical and working solutions
  • Pays attention to detail and interacts with team to meet common goals
Minimum Qualifications
  • BSc/MSc degree in electrical engineering, computer science/electrical engineering, computer science/electronics
  • In all cases, candidates should demonstrate a background in the digital (wireless) communications sector but ability is more important than specific domain knowledge or qualifications.

Specialist Technical Background
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate understanding in:-

• Embedded development
• Windows, WinCE, Linux and RTOS device drivers
• compiler and IDE technology
• WLAN (802.11) protocols
• VOIP, SME,WLAN,TCP/IP, IPSec, SIP and RTP
• Wireless standards such as UWB, DVB, RDS
• 2G/3G protocol stacks, UMA and IMS
• Embedded testing tools and automation techniques
