Finding right Jobs:

Friends of Literacy and Mass Education (FLAME) is an educational and health NGO registered under the Societies Act 1860 in May 2001, it has also been granted tax exempt status and certification from the PCP (Pakistan Center of Philanthropy).
FLAME’s Achievements:
- Home Based Non-Formal Schools.
Since its inception in 2001, until now FLAME has established and managed over 175 NFBE schools. Out of these 120 are located in the province of Sindh alone; 43 in Baldia Town; 48 in Landhi; 10 in Tando Mohammad Khan 9 in Shikarpur and 10 in Sukkur)
Approximately 4000 girls and boys of different ages are studying in these schools in Sindh, of these, about 65% are girls. FLAME pays teachers’ salaries and provides them free education including books and other school material.
Mobile Health Units (MHU)Because of the unhealthy environment in which children are living FLAME decided to provide them with basic healthcare facility so that children of its schools could be cured of debilitating but easily treatable common ailments such as scabies, stomach worms upper respiratory tract infections, UTI etc. For this purpose FLAME has hired 6 MBBS lady doctors 5 of whom visit 5 schools in Landhi every Tuesday and 5 of them visit 5 schools in Baldia Town every Saturday. Thus they treat approximately 350 children and provide them free medicine every week.
Vocational Training Center (VTC)
FLAME has built 2 Vocational Training Centers one each in Landhi and Baldia Town to provide to its grown up boys and girls and to some members of the community training in such skills as sewing, embroidery, beautician work, computers, electrical work, plumbing and driving. These two VTCs have already started working partially but we hope that they will each be training approximately 150-200 young girls and boys in these skills every year.
