Since 2007, the levels of violence and insecurity have greatly increased in Swat (NWFP) Pakistan due to the ongoing conflict between the Pakistani Government and Militants. In this context, the sustainable resolution of the conflict can only come from increased civil society participation. Currently, civil society organizations are weak, unorganized and not strategically united in the pursuit of a common vision of peace and development. This issue can be dealt with if efforts are made to enhance the role of civil society through capacity-building, wider participation and involvement of the people, creation of mechanisms for positive interactions with government institutions and advocacy.
* Description
Reporting directly to the Chairman/ CEO, the program coordinator is responsible for the overall development and coordination of programs and projects. The position will have a key lead role in the Program Support Unit.
* Duties and Responsibilities
Key Functions :
Plan, coordinate and oversee the implementation of projects and programs within the Program Support Unit
1. Lead, supervise and support the Program Support Unit Staff
2. Establish systems and procedures for M & E and Planning and communication
3. Develop project reports and other related documents
4. Develop tools and mechanisms to effectively track and monitor progress
5. Facilitate collaboration and coordination among various NGO in the area.
6. Act as main point of contact for partners and donors in relations to projects
7. Assist departments in developing project plans, reports including project administration
8. Identify training and capacity needs of the civil society organizations and propose relevant training
9. Assist individual in conducting performance assessments/appraisal to ensure necessary capacities exist in implementing programs
10. Work closely with the Chairman/ CEO in conducting reviews, assessments, preparing reports and revising organizational strategic plan and other policy documents
11. Any other activities as assigned by the Chairman/ CEO
Recruitment Qualifications
* Education
Master in Peace Studies, Political/Social Sciences, Public/Businesses Administration, Journalism
* Experience
7- 10 years experience in programme coordination and management with an international NGO and/or the Government of Pakistan.
* Language Requirements
Professional knowledge and skills in Pashto, Urdu and English languages.
* Computer Skill
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes Excel, Word, Access and MS Power-Point- is a must
