| Job Description/ Responsibilities | As a Senior Process/Technical Safety Consultant, you’ll work in the Global Process/Technical Safety and Operability Discipline of the HSE Consultancy Group joining a team of experienced process engineering safety specialists with direct colleagues in The Netherlands, Kuala Lumpur and Houston. Your main role will be to support diverse and varied projects and operational groups in Projects and Manufacturing (Refining, Chemicals, Liquefied Natural Gas and Gas to Liquids processes), and for third parties to establish fit for purpose and cost-effective approaches to process/technical safety and operability risks. Your responsibilities will include: Executing process safety reviews for projects including model- and pre-start-up reviews; Executing process safety assessments for existing installations in Shell’s manufacturing organisation or third parties; Monitoring and disseminating industry expertise and best practice through the facilitation of workshops and provision of training; Developing practices for process safety strategies with reference to Shell’s processes Advising customers on potential process/technical safety risks and offering support in finding solutions to lower HSE risks to people, installations and the environment; Developing your skills in various methodologies to analyse processes, installations and issues like Desk Safety Reviews, HAZOP, HEMP, LOPA, etc; Shell is currently managing a significant number of very large projects, both in downstream manufacturing and in gas and power, with new technology challenging process safety approaches. With this in mind, a high level of professionalism in the provision of advice and balance between risk, controls and capital is required. |

| Profile | With a degree or its equivalent in chemical engineering, you’ll have at least 10 years' experience in the following areas: Technology development of processes with an affinity for practical and engineering elements or engineering experience with a strong affinity for process and technology; Operational and hands-on experience of installations, preferably in the petrochemical industry; HSE with a focus on process safety. | Job Description/ Responsibilities | As one of our HSE in Projects Consultants, you’ll have the opportunity to use your skills in a truly global environment. You’ll join a team of experienced HSE consultants who have revolutionised the way Project Managers view and are able to implement HSE in their Projects. You’ll be in the forefront of improving HSE assurance and integrating all aspects of health, safety, environment, social performance and security into the major capital projects for Shell and third party clients. In addition, you’ll provide HSE assurance studies and advice to project design teams working both in the base office and in the project team, wherever it is located. The main purpose of this role is to assist diverse and varied Project groups and other customers to establish a systematic, fit-for-purpose and cost-effective approach to the management of HSE risks within Capital Projects. This will require the full spectrum of HSE skills including setting up HSE management systems and providing HSE risk management advice and services for customers. Deliverables will address technical, environmental and social issues in a way that is fully integrated with the management of other business risks and activities.
